We especially liked the $193 in mileage costs for the 2 mile ambulance ride between our house and the hospital emergency room. Most folks know a trip in the ambulance costs this much, so it's not a shock. But I still marveled at the $10,000 "unit price."
Amazing what certain things in health care cost. You want to do what's right and be safe but sometimes the amount of things like that is just ridiculous.
I couldn't resist responding to this... when my daughter wsa almost 3 she survived an ordeal surrounding swallowing (lodging/choking) on a quarter. to the local hospital (less than 1/2 mile) and then transported to city hospital 1/2 hour away was over 13K. They waived the charges when I told them my insurance would have covered a medi-flight but I wasn't given that option.
